Chinese Defense Minister meets Nepalese and Sri Lankan Defense Officers

Chinese State Counselor, Defense Minister Wei Fang-hu met Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharel and the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Defense Kapila Vaidyaratne on October 27 in Beijing.

In a meeting with Pokharel, Wei Fang-h said that China and Nepal are like brothers. Nepal does not sanction any separatist activity against China in any country of its power. China is its fan and together with Nepal, it wants to consolidate various levels of defense departments and both armies. Simultaneously, it wants to deepen real cooperation in areas like rescue, joint exercises and humanities training. In order to make active contribution to the development of bilateral relations and regional peace and stability.

Pokharel said that Nepal adheres to a China policy firmly and gives priority to development of relations with China. Nepal wants to continuously upgrade the level of relations between the two countries and the two armies with China.

During the meeting with the Sri Lankan guest Vaidya, Wei Fang-h said that China and Sri Lanka are good friends and good partners. China wants to implement with the Sri Lankan perseverance of the important common consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries. Wants mutual support and assistance on issues related to each other’s interests and seeks the inherent power of cooperation between the two armies. So that the establishment of a military relationship friendly to the bilateral strategic partner partnership relationship could be further extended.

Vaidyaratne said in the meeting that Sri Lanka wants to strengthen China’s interaction and cooperation, to establish a more intimate and harmonious Chinese-Sri Lankan military relationship.
